Chirimen Hoard

The chirimen from Fabric Tales in Japan arrived the other day. For poly chirimen it is very very nice! I couldn't help myself - I had to get some chirimen piping, bias tape and extra fabric for perhaps another Hong Kong vest or Joplin Pullover...

Now all I have to do is create a pattern by doing a rub off of the chirimen jacket and grading it up to my size.

I can't find a link to email you so I am asking my question here. I love your new book but I can't find the pattern for the beautiful necklace (?) with the green cabochon shown in the lower left corner of the front cover. I know you show how to bead around cabochons but what is shown on the cover is more complicated than what you discuss in the book. Thanks so much!!

Hi Joan K - my email is:
annika@annikadegroot.com. The necklace on the front of the book is a variation on the stained glass bracelet in the book; to do a cabochon with more than one level of beads can be found in so many other beading books that it was excluded from this one. However, I would be glad to walk you through the steps to it via email! Just drop me a line.

OH, I just know you are going to do something wonderful with this fabric. I'm sure your chirimen will be gorgeous, and I can just see you wearing it already!
